Nephews Birthday, Wisdom teeth, New pup, Flood

I have a bit of catching up to do. Sorry! I hate when I wait so long to blog because then I'm trying to organize pictures and remember stories and what not. Anyways, lets start with the 5th of July. It was my nephew's 1st birthday. My family just had a little celebration on that Sunday with dinner, cake and ice cream. I cannot believe he is 1 already! Time flies. He's getting cuter and cuter by the minute and his personality is really starting to come out.
Lovin his new toy.

He wouldn't sit, only stand. haha

And of course you can't have a birthday without a little cake ;) I love this nugget!

Now for wisdom teeth. Woo. What a doozy. As weird as this is I kind of like to write down details so I can look back and re read how my experience went. So I woke up early on Friday the 11th for my appointment at 7. My mom came and picked me and my husband up. I was nervous. Mainly for the IV. I HATE needles in the veins. Just giving me a shot in the arm doesn't really bug me but something about a needle into your vein grosses me out. Maybe it's because I have always had bad luck with needles too. I have such little veins and when you go in fasting with no food or water in your system they seem to shrink even more. They called me back and the rest went pretty quick. It of course took like 2 minutes and lots of needle moving around to get my IV in. I didn't pass out though. Was getting there but I didn't! And I don't remember much after that. My poor mom and husband are always in for the ringer with me coming out of anesthesia. That stuff is so not my friend. I say the weirdest things, cry like I'm two over who knows what, and make nooo sense. At least I can make them laugh right? We came home, I took some pills, and went to sleep. And that's pretty much what I have done for the past week. Definitely day 3 and 4 were horrible. I felt sick all over. My mouth felt like I had been punched in the face, I was swollen inside and out, I had a headache that would NOT leave, my stomach was upset from all the pills, I couldn't eat much because it hurt to eat plus I just wanted something hardy and filling, plus some other stuff going on. I'll save you the details on that one ;) So yeah, not really a fun thing to go through. I'm looking forward to this week being over so I can feel back to myself. But, I am GLAD it's over.
Day 2. My right side caught up on day 3.

Here's a couple of awkward selfies for ya. haha I just wanted to track my swelling. I felt like I gained like 20 pounds in my face. This was day 3 I think. And for today, the swelling has gone down some, but now my jaw on both sides are like green from bruising. So gross.

On that first day, my sister went and picked up her new puppy. And it seriously was the best way for recovering from a crappy day. Caleb had work alllll week so I have pretty much been chillin at my parent's house.
This is Karli. Is she not just theee cutest thing?! She's a little Corgi. She sleeps like 70% of the day. So snuggly and sooooo cute!

My pup Libbie. I love her so so much.

Libbie was a big ol wanny and was scared of Karli. It was hillarious. Karli just wanted to play with Libbie and instead Libbie would run to me and want to be held. haha p.s. ignore my homeless look. Who gets ready when you feel like poop?

I'm so grateful for my husband and mom and family. I have the best support system. I can't say thanks enough for the snuggles, making my food, bringing me food, rides out home, phone calls and texts, everything. So thank you thank you! Love you guys!

And now for the flood. I'm sure all you Rexburgians are maybe getting annoyed with all the posts and stuff but for my family and friends that aren't from here you can see what happened. I was at my parent's house when I received a flash flood warning on my phone. I didn't think anything of it seeing that I get fire watch warnings, hard wind warnings etc. Then my dad got home from work. He said that he heard there was flooding in town. So I of course get on facebook and seriously everyone and their dogs are posting pictures and videos of this flash flood that is going on. I was seriously BLOWN AWAY with some of the pictures. I was nervous because we live in a basement apartment and a lot of the pictures of the water on the streets are right close to my house. So me freaking out I called Caleb at his work and had him call his grandma that lives above us to have her check on our place. Our place was fine but water was building at our door. In the meantime, more pictures and videos are being posted. Me and my brother Lane were like uber curious and wanted to drive in to check on our apartment and see the town. So we headed on in. We checked on my apt, and it was ALL dry. THANK goodness. The town was pretty much dried up since the flood but there were still streets closed, people swimming in the water, and kids on their bikes with water up to their seats. It was so bizarre. Stuff like that doesn't happen in Rexburg. It was nuts. Anyways. here are some photos of our town.
Streets closed

Deep water that has just pooled up and that people are now swimming in.

Streets that are waist deep with water and some that completely covered the cabs of their cars.

People swimming at the round about

They said there were places where it was 6 feet deep with water.

I guess if you need to get across town thaaaat bad..smh

These poor apartments.

When me and my brother drove in, people were flooded out EVERYWHERE. Some people lost EVERYTHING. I cannot even imagine. Even when a home floods of 1 inch it's a total disaster and even then, things can get damaged or ruined. My heart goes out to these people. :( so sad. Campus was evacuated, some college buildings were flooded, it was so so weird. My parents were just 15 min outside of town and didn't get a drop of rain. Through all of this, it's neat to see what kind of a community we are. People were posting ALL over facebook offering food, shelter, businesses are offering free laundry, clothes donations, computer companies are offering to fix damaged computers for students, car places offering to fix water damaged cars, people offering to help wherever they could, etc. It's why I love where I live. Pretty crazy stuff! Keep these people that were affected in your prayers. If you want to see videos feel free to you tube some. There is plenty!

As for other news, Caleb is doing just awesome with his work. I'm so uber proud of him. He works so hard and has just been doing awesome. Way to go love! Me, well yeah, I got my teeth yanked and other than that nothin. Libbie is good.
Me and Caleb talk all the time how we are blessed to have her! Excuse the dirty laundry in the background :/
